At 1 a.m. on December 11, 2013, residents in Kiev, Ukraine were suddenly awakened from their sleep by a loud pealing of church bells.

It was the first time the bells at St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery had been rung for an emergency since the year 1240 when the city was being sacked by a Mongol horde.

The bells rang incessantly for four hours. 

The reason?  Protestors in the town square needed to summon citizen reinforcements to repel police and government forces intent on removing them from their position.

This was the culmination of months of protests from local citizens who were chafing under the weight of a corrupt government.

The night turned out to be an incredible turning point in the months-long uprising, and the takeaways for your business are all over the place.
